Grade twelve student Jackson Bueckert adds experience to the VCA Lions. The school’s basketball team won provincial silver in 2023 and gold in 2022.

The Valley Christian Academy (VCA) Lions and the Clavet Cougars served notice that they are among the best basketball teams in the province as each school hosted a 3A Boys Regional tournament on March 15-16.

In both cases the teams exhibited their dominance.

Clavet won game one 99-28 over PACI. On Saturday they downed Regina HUDA 77-38.

VCA demonstrated their scoring ability, coming away with a 106-51 win over Maidstone and a 101-64 win over Canora on Saturday.

Waldheim also competed in a 3A Boys Regional tournament hosted by MJ Cornerstone. They were edged out 56-59 in a highly contested match with Unity.

In 2A Boys Regionals, Rosthern competed in St. Brieux and Langham competed at the Saskatoon Christian School.

Martensville competed in 4A Boys Regionals at Central Collegiate in Moose Jaw.

Warman competed in 5A Boys Regionals in Lloydminster.

Hepburn competed in 1A Girls Regionals in Foam Lake.

In 2A Girls Regionals Langham competed in Norquay and Rosthern competed at LCBI.

In 3A Girls Regionals, Rosthern Junior College competed in Lanigan. Valley Christian Academy competed in Wynyard.

Martensville competed in 4A Girls Regionals at Central Collegiate in Moose Jaw.

Warman competed in 5A Girls Regionals at St. Mary High School in Prince Albert.
