The Sask First program through Hockey Sask works to promote the development of quality players. A number of area players were recognized as being among the best of the best at recent camps.

Defenseman Calder Hamilton, forwards Sam Failler and Dade Wotherspoon of the Martensville U15AA Marauders have been selected to the Sask First top 29 after attending the Top 80  Under-16 tournament  in Balgonie on February 16-18.

They will be attending an orientation camp in June and a summer camp in Regina with the goal of selecting Team Saskatchewan to compete in the WHL Cup in Red Deer, Alberta later in the fall.

Selected to the Top 80 Under 18 female were goaltender Annika Neufeld (Waldheim); defence Addison Davidge (Warman), Reece Dyky (Warman), Kasey Marshall (Martensville); forwards Kolbee Ashe (Warman), Morgan Loney (Dalmeny), Jade Olszewski (RM of Dundurn). The Top 80 tournament is April 12-14 in Balgonie where the Top 32 will be selected for Orientation Camp in June and Summer and Fall camps to finalize Team Saskatchewan to compete in the 2024 National Under-18 Championship.

Selected to the Top 80 Male U18 are defence Hunter Jaeb (Martensville), Austin Root (Martensville), Tarron Sabadash (Martensville); forwards Jake Bergman (Martensville), Raiden Clayton (Warman), Clark Goebel ( Clavet), Tyler Hale (Martensville), Brenden Jones (Warman), Chance Regush (Warman), Sawyer Scheidt (Warman), Evan Soronski (Martensville), Markus Thompson (Warman), Broden Wortherspoon (Martensville), Easton Woytiuk (Martensville).

The Top 80 tournament will be April 12-14 in Regina. This  will provide an excellent opportunity for players to showcase their talent and ability in front of many scouts from the PJHL, SJHL and WHL.

The Warman U15AA Wildcats are well represented on the Sask First Female U16 Top 68 including defence Kiersten Buniak (Rosthern), Abigail Fehr (Warman); forwards  Claire Abrametz ( Clavet), Ayla Anderson ( Warman), Sadie Green (Martensville), Zoey Krienke (Warman), Andie Jo Marshall (Martensville).

Their tournament is set for April 5-7 in Regina. Up to 30 top performers will then be invited to a Summer Showcase Tournament in August.
