Two men were arrested in the village of Borden after attempting to flee from police in Saskatoon.
At approximately 12:57 a.m., on Tuesday, February 13, Saskatoon Police officers located a vehicle that was reported stolen on February 10, 2024.
Officers attempted a traffic stop at Idylwyld Drive and 36th Street in Saskatoon, shortly after locating the vehicle, but the driver evaded, heading northbound on Idylwyld Drive towards Highway 16.
The Saskatoon Police Air Support Unit was able to track the vehicle to Borden, where officers observed a pair of suspects flee from the vehicle. The pair were arrested shortly after.
Upon a search of the driver, police located an air pistol, knife, fentanyl and cocaine.
As a result, a 28-year-old man and 27-year-old man were charged with possession of stolen property over $5000. The 28-year-old was also charged with dangerous driving, possession of a weapon, firearms act violations and possession of cocaine and fentanyl.
