On January 5 at 5:31 p.m., Corman Park Police Service (CPPS) conducted a traffic stop on Grasswood Road near Preston Avenue to check the sobriety of the driver. An odor of cannabis was detected at the vehicle and the driver displayed signs of cannabis impairment. The driver provided a sample of oral fluid which came back positive for THC. The driver was subsequently issued a 60-day drivers license suspension as they were a Novice driver and their vehicle seized for 3 days.
On January 5 at 4:43 p.m., CPPS performed a traffic stop on Highway 219 near Saskatoon to check the validity of the vehicle’s permit. It was learned the driver was suspended from driving, and in addition, had warrants out of Prince Albert Police Service and Rosthern RCMP. The driver was subsequently released for court dates in Prince Albert and Rosthern as well as a summons to attend Saskatoon Traffic Court for driving on a suspended drivers license. The driver was also issued a ticket for driving without a valid license.
On January 6 at 8:45 p.m., CPPS conducted a traffic stop on Highway 219 near Crossmount Estates for a burnt-out taillight. CPPS learned an occupant of the vehicle had an active warrant out of Saskatoon Police Service. It was also learned another passenger had lied about their name as the driver had a ‘no contact’ condition with the passenger. The driver was arrested and charged with breaching a ‘no contact’ condition; the first passenger was arrested and released on their warrant to attend court in Saskatoon; and the second passenger was arrested and charged with obstructing a police officer. The driver and second passenger both were released with court dates at Saskatoon Provincial Court.
On January 9, at 11:07 a.m., CPPS was contacted about an injured coyote that the caller last saw around Township Road 354 and Range Road 3063. CPPS found the coyote in the middle of the road and did not move when approached, badly injured. The animal was euthanized due to its injuries.
On January 11, at 11:40 a.m., DOCC aired out a priority break and enter in progress at an address on near the corner of Township Road 384 and Highway 16, which Warman RCMP and CPPS responded too. The complainant noted that she could hear people talking inside the house and was hiding in the bathroom.CPPS members arrived and confirmed the suspects had fled and spoke to the complainant. The area was checked for suspect vehicle but did not locate.
On January 14 at 2:25 a.m., CPPS conducted a traffic stop on Highway 219 and Range Road 3055. The driver showed some signs of impairment, was read a mandatory approved screening device demand and provided a breath sample resulting in a WARN. The driver subsequently had their driver’s license suspended for 120 days and vehicle impounded for 7 days. The driver also received a ticket for failing to follow a license restriction to not consume any amount of alcohol and drive.
On January 19 at 5:58 p.m., CPPS arrested a suspect male, on the strength of a warrant from Saskatoon Police Service for escaping lawful custody, having walked away from Urban Camp the previous day. He was provided with his rights to counsel and turned over to custody of Saskatoon Police Service.
