The Prairie Junior Hockey League held its annual all-star game Saturday, January 6 in Assiniboia with four Delisle Chiefs hitting the ice. Goaltender Noah Martens, defenceman Griffin Heaney, forwards Carter Mason and Jesse Borschneck represented the Bob Dybvig (North) Division in a 6-3 victory over the Bill Johnson (South) Division.
Saskatoon Royals Keenan Bender gave the North squad a 1-0 first period lead.
The South responded with three goals in the first half of the second period.
Delisle’s talented rookie Jesse Borschneck cut into the South’s lead with a goal with 8:02 left in the period.
Bender then notched a natural hat trick, scoring goals at 7:16, 3:59 and 3:08 of the second period to give the North a 5-3 lead.
Saskatoon Royals defenceman Drayton Hvidston added an insurance marker in the third period.
Delisle’s veteran goaltender Noah Martens came in for the second half of the game and played bri
