On October 14, CPPS officer attended the South Corman Park school ball hockey tournament. This event provided police with an opportunity to meet with school officials and students as part of our community outreach.

On October 19, at 7:12 p.m., CPPS received a call about hearing multiple gun shots south of the caller’s location at TWP 374 and RR 3075. CPPS responded to the SOC’s residence and spoke with the homeowner who was shooting multiple rifles and shotguns with friends of his. Officers ensured that all weapons were registered and being transported legally.

On the morning of October 7 at 9:18 a.m., CPPS executed a traffic stop off RR 3054 near TWP 382. The driver and passenger were both arrested on outstanding warrants. The passenger was also in possession of a replica handgun and was charged with breaching his firearms prohibition. He was later released on an Undertaking to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court to answer the charge.

On October 15 at 3:52 p.m., CPPS was called for assistance with two bison on the southeast corner of the Dalmeny and Warman Roads intersection (Hwy 684/Hwy 305) the previous night. One was remaining in a field, the other was hit the previous evening by a vehicle on the roadway. Numerous persons and organizations were called to identify bison with no success or resolve the matter. Sedation was considered, but unable to do so as darkness was falling. Unfortunately, the actions of the bison meant it had to be destroyed for public safety reasons.

On October 14 at 12:25 a.m., CPPS observed a Chrysler 200 driving 131 km/hr in a 110 km/hr zone south on Highway 11 near Highway 305. A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was identified, with two other occupants. The male occupant in the front passenger seat was observed not wearing a seat belt, open alcohol was observed in plain view in between the front passengers’ legs and open alcohol was observed in plain view in the back seat near the male occupant in the back seat behind the driver. The male in the front passenger seat provided a false name and the male in the in the back seat wouldn’t identify himself. The male was arrested for obstruction and driver/vehicle fled with the two occupants. The investigation is continuing.
