The MML Delisle Pride are looking to take home a national championship on their home field this week.

The Saskatoon Amateur Softball Association (SASA)is hosting the 2023 Softball Canada U23 Men’s Fast Pitch Championship.

The event features seven top-calibre teams, spotlighting the best male U23 softball players in Canada.

The action takes place beginning Wednesday, August 2 at Bob Van Impe (BVI) Stadium and Joe Gallagher Fastball Field. The first game got underway Wednesday morning, with opening ceremonies slated for Wednesday evening.

The final championship match takes place on Sunday, August 6 at 3:00 p.m., also at BVI. For complete event information you can go to https://softball.ca/u23mens, which will have up to the minute results from Gamer Changer.

Teams competing in this year’s championship include: Owen Sound Selects, Harwood Corners, Alvinston Aces, MML Delisle Pride, Newfoundland, Tavistock Merchants, and Nova Scotia Selects.

The MML Delisle Pride play in the SASA’s Keth McLean Division, and they will be the Host Team. They finished third at last year’s championship and feature Brant Wiebe, who played for Canada’s U23 National Team which placed fifth at the World Cup in April.

The Tavistock Merchants from Ontario are the defending Champions, beating Owen Sound in last year’s final. They feature five national team members, including Connor Brooks, Reese Yantzi, Thomas Baker, Mason McKay and Mitch McKay.
