The Sask Five U15AAA and U18AAA have been very competitive as they take on the province’s best baseball teams in the Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League.
The Sask Five U18AAA Giants are currently sitting in sixth place in the league with nine wins and 10 losses.
Leading hitters include Carter Edgar (.350), Kleysen Gabruck (.338) and Jace Daku (.300). Daku is setting the pace for the team with 18 runs batted in. On the mound Ben Hosegood leads the team with a 2-0 record with a 2.96 earned run average.
The Sask Five U15AAA Giants currently are in fourth place with 11 wins and seven losses.
Josh Gutek leads the team in hitting and on the mound. He has a .462 batting average and a 4-1 pitching record with 50 strikeouts. Rhett Anderson has a .440 batting average with 17 runs batted in. Kash Berg has a .396 batting average with 14 runs batted in and has also been strong on the mound with a 3-1 record with 44 strikeouts. Ryder Samulak has a .333 batting average and leads the team 22 runs batted in.
U15AAA PICKS UP WIN
The U15AAA squad came away with a big 8-3 home win against one of the league’s top teams, the Saskatoon Brewers, Tuesday, June 20. The Giants got off to a great start scoring three runs in the first and salted the game away with a big four run fifth inning. Josh Gutek got the win, striking out four batters in four innings pitched. Axel Flodell was effective in relief, only allowing one run and striking out three batters. Gutek helped his cause, scoring three of the Giants runs and batting in another.

U18AAA GIANTS EVEN UP
The U18AAA Giants played .500 ball on the road this past week losing 8-6 to the East Central Red Sox on June 20. Houston Koch and Lukas Viden each had two hits in the game. The Giants rebounded with a 5-3 win against the Saskatoon Diamondbacks the next night.
Maddix Mathies had a strong outing on the mound allowing two hits and striking out five in five innings pitched. The Giants bats were alive as they collected 10 hits in the game. They split a double header in Swift Current on Saturday, June 24 winning game one 10-7 and losing game two 10-5. In game one the team was able to get eight hits in the win. Braden Toth went six innings striking out five batters for the win.
