Corbin Unruh of Valley Christian Academy (VCA) in Osler really cleaned up at the provincial high school track and field competition last weekend.
Unruh won three gold medals in the Intermediate Boys division, including:
* High Jump 2.01
* Long Jump 5.98
* Triple Jump 12.81
Unruh’s triple jump gold medal beat the provincial record. In high jump he held the record at 1.88. He smashed that with a 2.01 jump this year. That is the same height he cleared at the Central Valley Athletic Conference (CVAC) track meet.
Other CVAC athletes who won events at provincials include:
* Rosalie Braun, Osler VCA 200m Intermediate Girls 26.59
* Callie Steen, Hanley 1500m Senior Girls 4:52.47
* Skylar Dyck, Warman High School 3000m Intermediate Girls 10:50.69
* Jackson Greenwald, Allan Discus Throw 34.83m
In Junior Tetrathlon shotput Silas Roth of Waldheim earned second place with a throw of 11.45, which beat the existing provincial record.
SILVER MEDALISTS
Several CVAC athletes also earned silver medals at the provincial championship. They include:
* Oakland Flodell (Clavet) Boys Senior Tetrathlon with 2,015 points. Flodell finished in first place in the 100 meter event of the Tetrathlon with a time of 11.79, which beat the existing provincial record and helped him earn the overall silver medal. (The Tetrathlon is made up of four separate events.)
* Lukas Gurskie (Martensville) Boys senior long jump
* Rhea Tillmanns (Martensville) Girls junior triple jump
* Lauren Proctor (Langham) Girls intermediate pole vault
* Nick Srok (Langham) Boys intermediate high jump
* Madelyn Guggenheimer (Osler VCA) Girls intermediate high jump
* Rhyan Ballard (Martensville) Girls junior javelin throw
* Rosalie Braun (Osler VCA) Girls intermediate 100m
* Skylar Dyck (Warman) Girls intermediate 800 m and 1500m
* Callie Steen (Hanley) Girls senior 3000m
