
The Valley Christian Academy (VCA) Lions served notice they are ready to defend their provincial 3A basketball title with dominating wins in regional play held at VCA on March 17-18.

In game one they defeated Kipling 96-32. The team punched their ticket to HOOPLA on March 24-25 in Prince Albert with a 93-75 win over Clavet in the championship game.
Clavet had advanced to that game with a 77-50 win over Kamsack on Friday evening.
VCA enters provincial play as the number one seed. They are scheduled to play Unity at 12:00 Friday, March 24. This is a rematch of last year’s provincial final. Regina Christian and Fort Qu’Appelle also advanced from their regional play.

VCA was the only area school to advance. In the 2A Boys regional tournament Langham won game one over Rocanville 51-46 before losing to host Porcupine Plain 59-112. In 4A boys Martensville lost to Regina Scott 56-68. In 5A boys play Warman defeated Estevan 77-41 and lost to PA Carlton 47-89.
In girls regional tournaments Rosthern lost to LCBI 20-74 in 2A, RJC lost to Lanigan 36-111 in 3A, Martensville lost to Humboldt 37-44 in 4A. In 5A girls Warman lost to Estevan 73-79 in game one and 56-74 to Yorkton Regional in the Consolation game.
