Rosthern, Langham and Hanley were selected to host both Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association (SHSAA) Regional and Provincial Championships.
The path to the provincial championship began with regionals last weekend.
Rosthern hosted the boys competition and the hometown team from Rosthern Community School didn’t disappoint. They dominated the bonspiel with convincing , lopsided wins against all their competition.

The team made up of skip Jack Hrycuik, third Gaven Martens, second Kyler Schafer and lead Kaze Curren defeated North Battleford Comp 11-1, Lloydminster Comp 12-2 and Maidstone 10-4. This qualified them as one of the eight teams to play in the provincials being held on March 10-11 at the Rosthern Curling Club.
They are in pool B with Swift Current, Yorkton Regional and Wynyard.
Pool A has Outlook, Weyburn, Saskatoon Holy Cross and Lloydminster Comp.
As in all the provincial curling tournaments the top two teams in each pool advance to the playoff round.
Langham Curling Club is the host for the girls teams. Langham had two teams qualify for the regionals from conference play held in February.
Langham1 made up of skip Tori-Lynn Beblow, third Kalli Prefontaine, second Jenna Wiebe and lead Sheridan Zimmer started the day off with a 8-7 win over Unity before losing to North Battleford Comp in the A final.The team would lose 9-5 to Unity in the B final.
The Langham2 team made up of skip Samantha Lange, third Paige Farthing, second Rachel Hisey and lead Kyla Hannason gained some valuable experience in high level competition and battled hard in losses to North Battleford Comp and Unity.
Langham1 advances to the provincials as the host team. They play in pool A with Fox Valley, Wawota and Saskatoon Evan Hardy.
Moose Jaw Cornerstone, Regina Winston Knoll, Watson and North Battleford make up pool B.
Langham plays Wawota in draw one at 8:00 on Friday, March 10.
Hanley is hosting mixed play. They had a close 7-6 win over St. Walburg and a pair of wins over Macklin before losing to Meadow Lake.
Martensville narrowly missed qualifying. They had wins over Wilkie and St. Walburg and losses to Meadow Lake and Macklin.
In provincial play Hanley is in pool A with Maple Creek, Yorkton Sacred Heart and Watrous. Pool B has Moose Jaw Peacock, Lampman, Tisdale and Meadow Lake.
Hanley plays Yorkton Sacred Heart at 11;00 a.m. on Friday, March 10.
