The Warman U13AA Wildcats won the Sask Challenge Cup tournament at the Canlan Jemini 4-plex arena in Saskatoon December 30, 2022 to January 1, 2023. The 13-team tournament included teams from Calgary, Melville, White City, Prince Albert, North Battleford, Swift Current and Saskatoon. The Wildcats cruised undefeated through round-robin play, downing the Saskatoon Express 7-3 and the Prince Albert Greyhounds 12-0 on December 30, and beating the Saskatoon Thunder 8-3 on December 31. They topped the Prairie Storm 5-2 in their first playoff game and overcame the Saskatoon Titans 5-1 in their second game on December 31 to advance to the gold medal final. They earned a 3-1 victory over the NorthWest Stars in the championship game January 1. Cam Aebig earned ‘player of the game’ honours in the championship match, while Kobe Pellack was named the Tournament MVP. The team includes goaltenders Avery Brunen and Ty Keyowski; defensemen Ty Doran, Kaleb Johns, Arlo Barclay, Walker Bergen, Rhys Curren and Logan Olsen; forwards Maclain Ethier, Kai Steel, Ty Doran, Haven Brossart, Cam Aebig, Kobe Pellack, Lucas Ireland, Nixon Bergen, Caleb Philp and Reid Viden; coaches Tyler Pellack, Shayn Olsen, Riley Ethier and Ryan Barclay.
