Corben Schnurr back- stopped the Warman U18AAA Wildcats to a pair of victories this past week.
The Martensville native was in the zone as he followed a 33-save shutout performance against the Regina Pat Canadians on Tuesday, December 13 with a 25-save shutout against the Prince Albert Mintos on Sunday, December 18.
The back-to-back shutouts lowered Schnurr’s goals against average to a league leading 1.69.
In the Tuesday game played in Regina the Wildcats came away with a 1-0 victory as a first period powerplay marker by Cade Hynd proved to be the winner.
The Pat Canadians could not solve Schnurr even after peppering him with 16 shots in the second period.
Wildcats head coach Courage Bear said, “It was great to come away with the win in Regina. Schnurr made a lot of big saves to give us the win.”
Keeping with the hot goalie, Schnurr started the game at the Warman Home Centre Communiplex on Sunday, December 18.

The game was almost a repeat as the two teams battled back and forth with an intensity and pace that had a playoff feel to it.
Warman finally broke the gridlock when Deegan Wapass scored a powerplay goal with two seconds left in the second period.
While the first 40 minutes had been close, the third period belonged to the Wildcats as they would score six more goals.
Wapass scored his second of the game. Zane Normand, Tylan Henrikson, and Dawson Gerwing netted singles, while Kazden Mathies had a pair in the 7-0 win.
