After a two-year hiatus, Dalmeny Days is back and bigger than ever.
The family-oriented community fair’s lineup of activities June 3, 4 and 5 mixes traditional favourites with fresh attractions.
“We’ve got some new things going on this year,” said Dalmeny Recreation Manager Mat Halcro. “The Adventure Wranglers are bringing their reptile exhibit, which includes many kinds of critters and is both educational and entertaining. There’s something for all ages.
“Another big draw this year is a circus act called Dr. Von Houligan’s Family Extravaganza.
“He’s from Saskatchewan but he tours right across the country. The show takes place in a big circus tent and he does a magic show and juggling. It’s very interactive and he brings kids on stage to help him out as his assistants.
“Wait till you see him blow fire. It’s cool.”
Halcro said all the entertainment events at Dalmeny Days are free of charge.
There are perennial favourites including a parade, children’s activities with face-painting and bouncy castles; Warren the Balloon Man; wagon rides; live music by Saskatchewan Country Music Association bands on the outdoor stage; a slowpitch ball tournament and wagon rides.
Dalmeny Minor Hockey Association volunteers will be cooking up a pancake breakfast, and the Spruce Manor Care Home is hosting a classic car show and shine in its parking lot.
Halcro said it promises to be an entertaining and fun weekend for the whole family.
He encourages anyone interested in participating in the Dalmeny parade to contact the Dalmeny Town Office at 306-254-2133.
“We’re hoping to get some more entries,” he said.
