The annual Draggins Rod and Custom Car Show will be held Friday and Saturday April 15 and 16 in the World Trade Center at Prairieland Park from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. both days.
Exhibitors from across western Canada will compete for prize money as well as trophies in a variety of classes including Customs, Hot Rods, Antiques, Restorations, Muscle Cars, Race Cars, Vintage Motorcycles, Custom Trucks, and more.
Past car shows have shown some of the most beautiful cars from the Canada as well as the U.S. A Riddler award winning custom 1957 Chev, special guests including Steve Darnell from the TV show Welder Up Garage.
This year we have two cars with an incredible past, one is a 1 of 31 built, factory restoration 1969 Mercury Cougar XR7. A 428 Cobra Jet, Ram Air, 4 speed convertible, correct restoration down to the last detail. The second is a 1957 Chev 2 door that has been owned since 1968. This car has been reinvented 5 times by its owner, it has been a Custom car with 22 coats of paint, a race car and now its back to the original body and trim. Both cars represent only a fraction of what will be available to be viewed at this year’s show.
The Battle of the Automotive Technicians is always a crowd favorite and this year we again look forward to the teams that compete as well as the fans who cheer on the teams of two.
Admission to the car show is $20 for people 16 years of age and older, $10 for people 6 to 15 years of age which includes a free Hot Wheels model. Children of pre-school age and people with cognitive or physical disabilities are free of charge.
