Visibility is greatly reduced due to blowing snow and high winds

Warman RCMP are advising residents not to travel at this time due to current weather conditions.

Warman RCMP Sergeant Jacqueline Spence said it is extremely dangerous for emergency services at this time, and the public should be aware that response times will be affected.

Travel of any kind is not recommended until road conditions improve.

Numerous motor vehicle collisions have been reported in the area, including several on Highway 16 and Highway 11.

Emergency responders are attempting to get to as many incidents as possible, but they are dealing with dangerous road conditions and near-zero visibility due to blowing snow and high winds.

Even in urban areas driving conditions are terrible.

Saskatoon Police are advising the public of deteriorating road conditions as it relates to the ongoing weather event.

Parts of Saskatoon are experiencing near-zero visibility conditions, and several multi-vehicle collisions have been reported to police. Police are currently responding to a collision in the area of Claypool Drive and Airport Drive involving more than 12 vehicles. Traffic restrictions are being put in place, however motorists are advised to avoid the area altogether. No injuries have been reported.

If travel is necessary, motorists are reminded to decrease speeds and increase following distances.
