Saskatoon firefighters used specialized equipment to extricate four children and one adult from a vehicle involved in a collision in Saskatoon on Wednesday morning, January 12.
At 8:36 a.m., the Saskatoon Fire Department Communication Center received a notification of a two-vehicle collision at Highway 11 and Circle Drive.
Dispatched to the scene were one fire engine, one rescue unit and the Battalion Chief.
First arriving fire crews reported a vehicle lying on its side with five occupants requiring assistance to be extricated.
All occupants were assessed by firefighters and presented no injuries.
The vehicle was stabilized for safety reasons.
Four children and one adult were safely removed from the vehicle at 8:55 a.m.
A fire crew stayed with the occupants providing warmth and safety from traffic. Occupants were waiting for transportation from someone they knew. The fire crew left the scene at 9:20 a.m. and returned to their station.
Firefighters remind motorists to drive with caution and stay safe.
