RCMP block traffic on Range Road 3062 south of Dalmeny on Monday, November 22

One man died as a result of a tragic fire at a rural residence south of Dalmeny on Monday morning, November 22.

Dalmeny Fire and Rescue, Warman RCMP and Dalmeny Police were called to the scene at 10:58 a.m. according to Dalmeny Fire and Rescue Lieutenant Joanne Elder.

Police blocked off the Dalmeny Access Road to both north and south-bound traffic and re-routed vehicles for several hours while firefighters battled the blaze.

Dalmeny firefighters arrived on scene shortly after the 911 call came in. They immediately called Martensville Fire Department for assistance.

Firefighters reported the fire to be under control just before 12:00 noon. After the fire was extinguished, Martensville Fire Department personnel were released from active duty at about 1:00 p.m.

The rural home was completely destroyed in the blaze. The provincial Coroner’s office confirmed on Tuesday morning, November 23, that one male died as a result of the fire.

A fire investigator was dispatched to the scene. RCMP say the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
