November 14 to 20 has been declared Victims and Survivors of Crime Week in Saskatchewan, coinciding with the national week of the same name.

The week provides an opportunity to raise awareness about the issues victims and survivors of crime face, as well as the services and legislative provisions that are available to help them.

Victims and Survivors of Crime Week also recognizes the contributions of volunteer victim support workers and volunteer board members throughout the province.

“The selfless efforts of these generous volunteers have positive effects in communities throughout the province,” Justice Minister and Attorney General Gordon Wyant said. “I commend them for their dedicated service to our citizens.”

The Ministry of Justice supports programs and services throughout Saskatchewan that help victims of crime. This includes $4.7 million in funding to police-based victim services across the province.
