Once again this year the Provincial Capital Commission was proud to provide $12,000 to support the wreath distribution program.
The PCC, Provincial Military Liaison and The Royal Canadian Legion, Saskatchewan Command have partnered together to prepare and distribute over 170 wreaths across the province. The program has been ongoing for several years with funds being donated by the PCC annually.
“Honouring veterans and remembering our fallen heroes is an important part of military recognition. The wreath program provides communities with the opportunity to come together in ceremony, “Provincial Military Liaison Greg Lawrence said. “Placing wreaths is a timeless and peaceful tradition to recognize those who made the ultimate sacrifice.”
“On behalf of the Saskatchewan Command of the Royal Canadian Legion, we wish to express our gratitude to the provincial government for their continued support of veterans and Remembrance in our great province,” Royal Canadian Legion, Saskatchewan Command Provincial President Keith Andrews said. “The Government Wreath Project serves as a reminder to everyone the importance of Remembrance for those who sacrificed for our freedoms.”
“The PCC is proud to sponsor this program once again,” PCC CEO Monique Goffinet Miller said. “The wreaths bring us together to reflect and respect our brave, forever remembered military.”
The PCC and Provincial Military Liaison are grateful to The Royal Canadian Legion, Saskatchewan Command for facilitating Remembrance Day programs and memorials across the province.
