No one was injured in a two-vehicle collision between a semi-trailer unit and a pickup truck hauling a camper on Highway 16 on Wednesday afternoon, November 3.
The collision occurred at about 2:30 p.m. a short distance west of the highway intersection with Township Road 384.
According to a Corman Park Police officer at the scene, an eastbound semi-trailer unit apparently rear-ended the back of an eastbound older-style fifth-wheel camper unit being pulled by a Chevrolet half-ton. The impact of the collision forced the camper unit forward, severely damaging the hitch and the structural integrity of the pickup truck.
Dalmeny Police, Corman Park Police and Dalmeny Fire and Rescue first responders, as well as Medavie Ambulance paramedics, responded to the collision. The driver of the half-ton pickup truck was assessed at the scene and did not need to be transported to hospital.
Police say the investigation into the collision is ongoing. The semi which apparently struck the trailer was not at the scene.
Visibility and road conditions at the time of the collision were good.
