Saskatchewan’s Provincial Emergency Operations Centre (PEOC) is coordinating with the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) and the Ontario Critical Care Command Centre on out of province critical care transfers.

Three transfers are in process today. Projected critical care transfers over the next four days are:
Thursday, Oct. 28 – Four transfers to Ontario planned

  • Friday, Oct. 29 – Three transfers to Ontario planned
  • Saturday, Oct. 30 – One transfer to Ontario planned
  • Sunday, Oct. 31 – One transfer to Ontario planned

Daily out of province transfers are anticipated to decline and will move to an intermittent schedule. This is due to decreases in ICU and COVID numbers across Saskatchewan, along with the arrival of additional federal resources and increased capacity within the health care system.
Out of province transfers are contingent on several factors, such as ICU capacity, clinical assessment and identification of appropriate patients, severe weather, or other unforeseen events. Final numbers may be subject to change.
All future out of patient transfers will be announced directly by the Government of Saskatchewan and the PEOC.
Updates to the number of patients transferred out of province for ICU care is updated daily and available here in the highlights section. Questions on these transfers will be addressed at the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre regular media availabilities.
