Jay Hill, Interim Leader of the Maverick Party is honoured to announce Matt Magolan will take on the role of party Executive Director.
Magolan, a proud Western Canadian and former candidate for the Maverick Party in Calgary-Midnapore, will be responsible for increasing the party’s membership base and fundraising activities, as well as leading the marketing and communications team.
“Western Canada has a unique culture, with a spirit and values that are unapologetically worth preserving and I look forward to increasing Maverick Party’s exposure across the West,” said Magolan.
Immigrated from Poland as a child, Magolan has called Western Canada his adopted home since 2007. He has lived in Calgary for 13 years where he has lived with his wife and young daughter.
Magolan has had a 14-year career in the aviation sector as an airline captain, corporate pilot, trainer, and as simulator instructor for a Western Canadian aircraft manufacturer.
During the pandemic, Matt stepped away from his career path and moved his efforts to advocacy as a project manager for a registered non-profit and started a small aviation consulting business based in Calgary, Alberta.
Like so many others, Magolan has spent years watching Ottawa treat westerners unfairly and he recognizes the need for significant change in the way Ottawa governs the West. He believes deeply that fundamental change is necessary to secure a bright future for the next generation of Western Canadians.
“Matt is our party’s first Executive Director, and he knows it is a big responsibility.” said Hill. “I am confident Matt will bring the same energy, skill set and commitment to this job as he did to his candidacy. Based on the feedback we received post-election, Western Canadians are looking for hope and ready for the change only the Maverick Party offers.”
