The Delisle Pride and Saskatoon Diamondbacks will be among the teams competing in the 2021 Rawlings Grand Slam Softball Championship, September 2-5 in Saskatoon. Held at one of the world’s premier softball venues in the Gordie Howe Sports Complex, this event will feature many of the best male softball players in the world. Canada’s is a world power in men’s softball and almost all of Softball Canada’s 2021 32-man, National Team Athlete Pool will be there as well as local pitcher Devon McCullough recently named Top Pitcher at the ISC Men’s Fastpitch World Tournament.
The Rawlings Grand Slam Championship will see competition in 2 categories, Men’s and U23 Men’s. The U23 category will have 9 teams from across Canada including one from Newfoundland and 2 teams from the SASA’s Keith McLean Division, Saskatoon Diamondbacks and Delisle Pride. The Men’s Division will feature 10 teams with 2 teams per province from BC to Ontario, including the host team Saskatoon Angels.
Action gets underway Thursday September 2 at 9:00AM at Bob Van Impe Stadium and 9:30 Joe Gallagher Field. The gold medal games will be played at BVI on Sunday at 2:30 and 5:00PM.
