A Saskatoon man is facing over a dozen charges after refusing to stop for police on Friday, May 14.
At approximately 11:00 p.m. members of the Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) Guns & Gangs Unit, with the assistance of the RCMP, attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black, 2021 Ford Mustang in Osler.
The driver refused to stop for police and fled at a high rate of speed. SPS Air Support Unit guided ground units to successfully deploy a tire deflation device.
The suspect vehicle came to a stop in a field near Neuanlage where the driver attempted to flee on foot before being taken into custody without further incident. He was found in possession of nearly 200g of cocaine, a stolen handgun and ammunition.
On May 15, 2021, police executed a search warrant at a residence in the 500 block of Hampton Circle where further ammunition was located and seized.
A 31-year-old Saskatoon man is charged with six firearms-related offences, Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Dangerous Driving, Evade Police, Driving While Prohibited, Possession of Property/Proceeds Obtained by Crime Under $5000 (x2) and Breach of Release.
