The following is the occurrence summary for May 10-17..

On May 12, at 2:10 a.m., Corman Park Police were patrolling in the area of the Yellowhead Industrial Park on Auction Mart Road in Corman Park when they observed a vehicle parked next to a sea container outside one of the businesses. There was a man observed by police in an adjacent field. Police approached the man, who advised that he was looking for his missing dog in the field. The man identified himself to police and it was determined that he was at large on court imposed conditions, one of which was a curfew. The man was arrested for violating his curfew. Police attended at the vehicle and found a hacksaw and copper wire. It was determined that the man had been attempting to enter the container. The man was turned over to Warman RCMP and is being investigated for a variety of property offences including possession of stolen property, possession of break-in tools, mischief and other offences.

On May 12 at 3:00 p.m., Corman Park Police were patrolling on Grasswood Road near Clarence in the RM of Corman Park when they observed a westbound vehicle at a high rate of speed. Police obtained a radar reading of 159 km/h in the 80 km/h zone. Police stopped the vehicle, a red 2005 BMW 330i, and spoke with the driver, a 35-year-old Saskatoon man, who advised that he was trying “knock the rust off of his brakes”.The man smelled of beverage alcohol and was read a roadside screening device demand. He provided a sample of his breath, which resulted in a reading of WARN. Police located an open alcohol beverage container in the vehicle as well. The man was issued a speeding ticket for $1170, a $360 ticket for open alcohol in a vehicle, a seven-day vehicle impoundment for exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km/h and a three-day licence suspension for the WARN reading on the roadside screening device, which indicates a blood alcohol between .04 and .08 mgs.

On May 13 at 9:00 p.m., Corman Park Police were alerted to a gathering of people in violation of the Public Health Order at a residence on Cherry Lane in Riverside Estates. It was learned by police that several people were approaching patrons of the Midtown Plaza in Saskatoon and soliciting them to attend a gathering at the residence to speak to financial opportunities. At 9:38 p.m. police attended the residence and observed a number of people who were leaving. They advised police they did not feel comfortable being in the house with so many people in attendance. Police spoke with two men, who identified themselves as organizers of the event. Police determined that there were at least 14 people in the residence who were not ordinarily residents there. Each of the two organizers, a Saskatoon man and a man from Etobicoke, Ontario were issued summonses under the Public Health Act which carry fines of $2800.

On May 14 at 8:00 a.m., Corman Park Police were patrolling on Dalmeny Road near Auction Mart Road when they observed a northbound black car at a high rate of speed. Police obtained a radar reading of 168 km/h on the vehicle in the 90 km/h zone. The police unit turned to pursue but the vehicle was quite a distance away. Police radioed the vehicle description to nearby units and the vehicle was observed by a nearby Saskatchewan Highway Patrol unit, which obtained a speed reading of 186 km/h. The vehicle was stopped by police and Highway Patrol units at Township Road 380. A 19-year-old male resident of Saskatoon was found to be the driver. The man advised he was headed to work and didn’t want to be late. The man was issued a $1313 speeding ticket and his vehicle was impounded for seven days for driving more than double the speed limit.

On May 16 at 9:24 p.m., Corman Park Police received a call of a gathering that had approximately 30 people inside a residence on Cherry Lane in Riverside Estates contrary to the Public Health Regulations. Police attended at the residence and observed several people inside the residence through the front window. Police attended at the door and spoke with the occupants, who advised that they had rented the place. Upon questioning the occupants admitted that they were in violation of the Public Health Act order as they had more than five people in the residence who were not ordinarily occupants there. Police were able to observe at least seven people without even entering the residence. Two adult men, one from Saskatoon and the other from Etobicoke, Ontario, admitted to organizing an event and bringing guests into the residence. Both men were issued summons under the Public Health Act with fines of $2800 each.
