Smoke from a wildfire north of Langham on May 4

Firefighters from Langham, Dalmeny, and Warman battled a wildfire straight north of Langham which was located in the vicinity of Township Road 400 and Range Road 3073.

The respective fire crews were on scene for six hours and after the fire was out, the Langham Fire Department continued to patrol the area, monitoring hot spots.

Langham fire crews responded to the scene at about 3:30 p.m. on May 4 and immediately called Dalmeny to provide assistance. Saskatoon Fire Department and Warman Fire Rescue were summoned a few minutes later.

Pumper trucks, water tenders, wildland trucks and specially-equipped all-terrain firefighting vehicles were used to battle the blaze, burning in a wooded area.

The cause of the fire is undetermined. There are some structures that were in the path of the fire. Fire crews worked hard to contain the blaze.
