The following is the occurrence summary for April 26 to May 3.

On April 30 at 9:40 p.m., Corman Park Police received a call of a single vehicle roll-over collision on Highway 11 near Township Road 381, south of Warman. Police attended and located a black Chevrolet Silverado. EMS was on scene and a 30-year-old male resident of Dundurn was identified as the driver of the truck. The man was interviewed by police and displayed several symptoms of impairment from alcohol consumption. He admitted to consuming a couple of beer with his supper earlier that evening. The man was read a breath demand and provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device, which registered a reading of FAIL. The man advised he wished to go to hospital after talking with the police and was taken to hospital via ambulance. While at hospital the man was read a breathalyser demand and upon being released from hospital with no injuries he was taken to the Saskatoon RCMP Detachment for breath tests. The man’s tests were found to be in excess of the legal limit when calculated to the time of the collision. The man was later released on charges of impaired operation of a conveyance and operating a conveyance with a blood alcohol equal to or greater than .08 mgs.

On May 2 at 12:12 a.m. Corman Park Police observed a grey Jeep Grand Cherokee near Highway 11 and Highway 305 that was having trouble maintaining its lane. Police stopped the SUV and spoke with the driver, a 39-year-old female resident of Duck Lake. The woman displayed some signs of impairment from alcohol consumption and was read a roadside breath test demand. The woman provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device which resulted in a reading of FAIL. The woman was arrested and taken to the Martensville RCMP Detachment where she provided breath samples of .10 and .09 mgs. The woman’s licence was suspended and her vehicle impounded and she was later released on charges of impaired operation of a conveyance and operating a conveyance with a blood alcohol equal to or greater than .08 mgs.

On May 2 at 2:50 a.m. Corman Park Police observed a southbound Dodge truck on Highway 11 near Highway 305, just north of Warman. The vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed and was clocked on radar at 170 km/h in a 110 km/h zone. Police were able to stop the vehicle and speak with the driver, a 47-year-old male resident of Prince Albert, who admitted to consuming three alcoholic drinks prior to driving. Police had the man exit his vehicle and when he did he was noted to be unsteady in his balance and smelled heavily of an alcoholic beverage.  The man then advised that he had consumed approximately 6 drinks. He was arrested for impaired driving and taken to the Martensville RCMP Detachment where he provided breath samples of .22 mgs, almost three times the legal limit. The man’s licence was suspended and his vehicle impounded and he was later released on charges of impaired operation of a conveyance and operating a conveyance with a blood alcohol equal to or greater than .08 mgs. He was also issued a speeding ticket with a fine of $910.

On May 2 at 8:20 p.m. Corman Park Police received a call of a man trespassing into yards in the Leisureland Trailer Park on Hodgson Road. Police attended the area and located a man in blue jeans and a black hoodie who matched the suspect description. The man was found running westbound from the trailer park on Hodgson Road. Numerous witnesses identified the man as having entered numerous private yards. Nothing was reported stolen. The man, a 55-year-old resident of Saskatoon, was charged with four counts of trespassing on to private property and released.

On May 2 at 11:43 p.m., Corman Park Police observed a southbound Ford Escape on Highway 11 at Wanuskewin Road at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was clocked on radar at 134 km/h in a 110 km/h zone. Police were able to stop the vehicle near Highway 11 and Marquis Drive in Saskatoon. There were two men in the vehicle and open alcoholic beverage containers were observed by police in the rear seat behind the two men. A search was conducted to determine if there was more alcohol in the vehicle when police discovered 16 cartons of unstamped tobacco in the trunk. The two men were arrested for possession of the untaxed tobacco. A further search revealed over 100 grams of cocaine, 180 grams of heroin and over $8700 in cash. Police also located some scales and baggies with the drugs. The two men were also arrested for possession of controlled substances for the purposes of trafficking. The Saskatoon Police Service was contacted and the men were turned over to them for charges and processing. A 22-year-old Moose Jaw man, and a 32-year-old Saskatoon man, are being held in custody on a variety of charges and will face a bail hearing. The street value of the seizure is estimated in excess of $32,000.
