Here is the occurrence summary for March 29 – April 6.

On April 1 at 6:45 p.m. Corman Park Police observed a black Chev Silverado truck being operated southbound on Highway 12 near Township Road 380. Police were alerted that the vehicle was unregistered by the automated licence plate reader. Police stopped the vehicle and observed three occupants inside. The driver, a 35-year-old male resident of the Beauval area, was wanted on warrants from the Meadow Lake RCMP for breach of probation and failing to comply with release conditions. He was arrested for the warrants. Another male passenger, 29 years of age, was found to be wanted on an arrest warrant from Saskatoon Police Service for driving while suspended. He too was arrested. The driver advised police that the vehicle had open alcohol in it and a search was conducted. The female passenger, 25 years of age, was found to be in possession of crystal meth and she too was arrested. Police also located a homemade Taser device, a homemade firearm and a quantity of jewelry still in the boxes from the retailer. The investigation was turned over to the Martensville RCMP, who continue to investigate the origin of the jewelry. The passengers were released on charges of drug and weapons possession. The driver was issued tickets for driving while suspended, operating an unregistered vehicle, having open alcohol in a vehicle, and charged for possession of weapons dangerous to the public peace and possession of a prohibited weapon. The investigation is still ongoing.

On April 4 at 1:00 a.m. Corman Park Police observed a grey Jeep Cherokee northbound on Highway 12 at Township Road 382. The vehicle was observed swerving within its lane. Police stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, a 38-year-old female resident of Martensville, whose breath smelled of beverage alcohol. The woman was read a breath demand and she provided a sample into a roadside screening device which registered a reading of FAIL. The woman was arrested and taken to the Martensville RCMP Detachment where she provided two breath samples at .18 mgs, more than double the legal limit. The woman was later released on charges of operating a conveyance while impaired and operating a conveyance with a blood alcohol that is equal to or greater than .08 mgs. Her vehicle was impounded and her driver’s licence suspended.

On April 4 at 12:56 p.m. Corman Park Police received a call of an abandoned trailer in the ditch on Range Road 3080 north of Township Road 370. Police attended and found the enclosed trailer in the ditch. The doors were unlocked and police located a bicycle and some other property in the trailer. Investigation revealed that the trailer had been stolen earlier in Saskatoon. Police seized the trailer for a forensic identification examination. The investigation was turned over to the Saskatoon Police Service.

On April 4 at 11:52 p.m. Corman Park Police observed a grey minivan on Beam Road near Dividend Road travelling on the shoulder at a slow rate of speed. Police stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, a 49-year-old female resident of Saskatoon. Police observed the odour of Cannabis in the vehicle and the woman advised that she had smoked Cannabis about two hours ago. Corman Park Police contacted the Dalmeny Police who attended with a drug screening device. The woman was read an oral fluid demand and subsequently provided a saliva sample to police, which tested positive for Cannabis. The woman was then subjected to a series of tests by a drug recognition expert. It was determined that the woman did not display enough symptoms of impairment to warrant charges, but did display sufficient symptoms to warrant a 72 hour driver’s licence suspension. A search of the vehicle did reveal Cannabis. The woman and a male passenger were both issued tickets for having open Cannabis in a vehicle. The woman’s driver’s licence was suspended and her vehicle impounded for three days.

On April 5 at 1:15 a.m. Corman Park Police were pulled over with a traffic stop on Beam Road when a white Dodge Ram pick-up went by the stopped police car at a slow rate of speed. The officer observed a female passenger in the white Dodge look directly at him. When the officer returned to his car he observed that the white truck had been revealed as being associated to a suspended driver by the automated licence plate reader in the police car. The officer quickly caught up to the truck and stopped it west of Highway 16. At this time the officer observed that the female passenger was now driving and there was a male seated in the passenger seat. The officer questioned the woman and she admitted that she had switched places with the driver after they passed the police vehicle. Investigation revealed the man was a prohibited driver for an impaired driving conviction from December, 2020. The officer observed the smell of beverage alcohol on the man’s breath and read him a breath demand. The man, a 21-year-old resident of Saskatoon, provided a sample of his breath into a roadside screening device which resulted in a reading of FAIL. The man was arrested and taken to the Martensville RCMP Detachment where he provided breath samples of .09 and .08 mgs. The man was later released on charges of driving while prohibited, operating a conveyance while impaired and operating a conveyance with a blood alcohol that is equal to or greater than .08 mgs. The man’s truck was impounded.
