Saskatchewan’s Chief Medical Health Officer was presented with a Saskatchewan Rush jersey by the owner of the National  Lacrosse League club.

In a news release issued March 3, Saskatchewan Rush owner Bruce Urban said the tribute is in recognition of the physician’s work in keeping Saskatchewan people safe.

A year ago this week, the 2020 Rush season came to an abrupt halt.

The Rush owner said over that time, Dr Saqib Shahab, Saskatchewan’s chief medical health officer, and his team across the province have been working tirelessly to keep us all safe from Covid-19.

Urban said Shahab is the face of thousands working in the front lines everyday to make our province better.

“On behalf of the entire Saskatchewan Rush organization, we proudly presented Dr. Shahab with a personalized jersey in appreciation of his continued leadership and guidance this past year,” said Urban.

“His expertise and calm demeanor have been a guiding light in the storm and we look forward to seeing him in the stands alongside Rush Nation next season “
