The following is the occurrence summary for January 25 – February 1.
On January 27 at 3:25 a.m. Corman Park Police were on patrol in the area of Highway 11 and Township Road 393 when they located a Chrysler Town and Country minivan stuck in the snow on the highway. Police determined that there was no one inside of the vehicle and when they made an inquiry on the licence plate they discovered the vehicle had recently been reported stolen in Saskatoon. Police towed the vehicle and searched the area for suspects with negative results.
On January 27 at 9:18 a.m. Corman Park Police observed a GMC Acadia eastbound on Highway 16 near Township Road 380 at a high rate of speed. Police obtained a radar reading of 134 km/h in a posted 110 km/h zone. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as a 69-year-old male resident of North Battleford. Investigation revealed that the car’s registration had expired on January 1st of that month. The man was issued a $198 speeding ticket and a $580 summons for operating an unregistered vehicle.
On January 27 at 11:20 p.m. Corman Park Police were travelling on Highway 219 near Cartwright Street when they observed a white Dodge Charger with a damaged windshield. Police stopped the vehicle and identified the driver, a 25 -year-old male resident of Saskatoon. Investigation revealed that the man had two outstanding arrest warrants on charges of driving while disqualified. The man was arrested and later released on the charges with new court dates.
On January 30 at 4:45 p.m. police received a call of a theft of gasoline from a gas station in Osler. Corman Park Police responded in the area and observed a gold Honda Accord with no licence plate that matched the description of the vehicle that was involved in the theft. The suspect vehicle was observed southbound on Highway 11 south of Warman. Police attempted to catch up to the vehicle and got closer to it on Idylwyld Dr. near Marquis Dr. in Saskatoon. Police observed that the vehicle had one male occupant inside. Police activated their emergency equipment to stop the vehicle but the driver took evasive manoeuvres and cut across several lanes of traffic to get away from police. Due to the volume of traffic and the minor nature of the offence, police discontinued attempts to stop the vehicle.
On January 31 at 12:44 a.m. Corman Park Police observed a gold Ford F-150 truck speeding on Highway 41 near Range Road 3014 at 122 km/h in a posted 100 km/h zone. Police reversed direction and attempted to stop the vehicle which made a turn on to Range Road 3040 and then into the Saddle Ridge Estates subdivision. Police lost sight of the vehicle briefly and then located it parked on the side of the street. There were two men adjacent to the vehicle and both of them denied driving the vehicle. It was apparent that both men had been drinking. Further investigation revealed that one of the men was on conditions from a release on charges of assault. One of the conditions was that he not consume or possess alcohol. The man, a 39 -year-old male resident of Spiritwood, was arrested and charged for violating his release conditions.
