The following is the occurrence summary for January 18 – 25.

On January 22 at 10:20 p.m. Corman Park Police observed a red GMC Sierra truck idling on the side of the road at Township Road 384 near Range Road 3062, south of Dalmeny. Police stopped behind the vehicle and saw that there was a man outside of the vehicle. The man, a 30-year-old resident of Martensville, advised that he was driving and had stopped to check a headlight. Police questioned the man about alcohol consumption, but he denied having had anything to drink. Police read the mandatory breath demand to the man and he provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device, which registered a reading of FAIL. The man was arrested and taken to the Martensville RCMP Detachment where he provided breath samples at 180 and 190 mgs%, more than double the legal limit. A search of the vehicle also revealed open alcohol and untaxed cigarettes. The man was held in custody for a short period of time and later released on charges of impaired driving, possession of open alcohol in a vehicle and possession of untaxed cigarettes. The man’s licence was suspended and his vehicle was impounded.

On January 23 at 1:00 a.m. Corman Park Police observed a brown Pontiac minivan at Highway 12 near Township Road 393 with a burned out taillight. Police stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, a 34-year-old male resident of Beauval, SK. The man could not provide any ID to police and identified himself with a false name. Once the man’s true identity was discovered it was determined that he was a suspended driver and was also wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant from Meadow Lake RCMP for failing to comply with a probation order. The man was later released on a new court date for the Meadow Lake charge and issued tickets for suspended driving, open liquor in a vehicle and driving with a burned out taillight. His vehicle was impounded.

On January 23 at 7:35 p.m. Corman Park Police were travelling northbound on Highway 12 near Township Road 380 when they observed a man standing outside a Dodge truck urinating on the roadway. Police circled around on to a service road and observed the vehicle was now travelling northbound on the highway. Police stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, a 25-year-old male resident of Saskatoon. The man admitted to consuming alcohol several hours prior to driving and he had the odour of beverage alcohol on his breath. Police read a breath demand to the driver and he submitted a sample of breath into a roadside screening device, which registered a reading of FAIL. The driver was arrested and taken to the Martensville RCMP Detachment where he provided two breath samples of 220 mgs%, almost triple the legal limit. It was also revealed that the man had a suspended driver’s licence. The man was later turned over to a family member and released on charges of impaired driving and driving while suspended. The vehicle was impounded.

On January 24 at 2:15 a.m. Corman Park Police were patrolling in a hotel parking lot at Floral Road near Highway 11 when they observed a vehicle idling in the parking lot. There were two people seated in the front seat of the vehicle. Police approached the vehicle and spoke with the driver, a 27-year-old female resident of Paynton, SK. The woman had been smoking Cannabis and admitted to consuming alcohol. Officers had the driver perform a standard field sobriety test, and submit a sample of breath into a roadside screening device, which resulted in a reading of FAIL. The woman was arrested and taken to the Saskatoon RCMP Detachment where she provided breath samples of 130 and 120 mgs%. The woman was held in custody for a short while and released on charges of impaired driving and consuming Cannabis in a vehicle.  The vehicle was impounded.
