Premier Scott Moe has accepted the resignation from cabinet of Joe Hargrave, effective January 4.
Hargrave travelled to Palm Springs, California on December 22, despite a recommendation from his own government against unnecessary travel outside the country.
Hargrave said he made the trip to finalize the sale of property; however, the NDP Opposition pointed out Hargrave’s California property not even listed for sale online until December 26.
During a media conference January 4, Moe said Hargrave’s trip constituted an “error in judgment.”
Hargrave will remain a member of the government caucus and MLA for Prince Albert Carlton.
Premier Moe has appointed Carrot River Valley MLA Fred Bradshaw as the Minister of Highways and Minister responsible for the Water Security Agency.
