A welcome addition to the fire fighting and rescue equipment was unveiled Monday, November 16 at the Pike Lake Fire Hall.

The new vehicle is a 2020 Ford F350 4×4 equipped with a 200 gallon water tank with a pump mounted on a slide in skid that can be unloaded for winter.

The quick response truck carries a variety of  specialized rescue equipment for emergency situations.

During the summer the quick response unit will be used for grass and bush fires with the tank and pump mounted. The vehicle is also capable of towing a trailer for the department’s side-by-side all-terrain vehicle, which has a smaller 70 gallon water tank with foam suppression capability.

The side by side ATV at Pike Lake is one of three units in the Delisle Fire Department at this hall.

This is the second new truck for the department as well as an older 2000 gallon tanker with a front mounted pump. The Pike Lake Hall is part of the Delisle and District Fire Department and covers a large are of the RM of Vanscoy as well as a contract with the Pike Lake Provincial Park.
