A Corman Park resident has been charged with violating the provincial Public Health Act for allegedly having more than 15 people in a private residence.

On Sunday, November 1 at 3:00 p.m., Corman Park Police officers attended at a residence in the community of Riverside Estates in the RM of Corman Park, south of Saskatoon.

Officers attended in response to a complaint that there were too many people in the residence in contravention of the Public Health Order, limiting private dwellings to 15 people or less.

Officers attended at the residence and met with the home owner, a 44-year-old male resident of Corman Park.

The man advised that he had people in his house and that police were welcome inside as he believed the group was not in the wrong.

Police looked throughout the house and counted a total of 21 occupants. One of the people inside told police that they were there for a band practice.

Corman Park Police have issued a summons to the home owner for being in contravention of the current public health order which stipulates that private gatherings in a dwelling are limited to 15 people. The summons carries a voluntary payment option of $2800.

The matter is to be heard in Provincial Court on December 15, 2020
