The following is the occurrence summary for September 27 – October 4.

On September 27 at 2:40 a.m., Corman Park Police observed a green Honda Civic partially in the ditch at Highway 12 and Township Road 392. Police stopped to determine if the occupants needed assistance.

The vehicle was being operated by a 24-year-old female resident of LaRonge. The woman admitted to alcohol consumption prior to driving and was read a breath demand by police. The woman supplied a sample of her breath into a roadside screening device which resulted in a reading of FAIL.

She was arrested and taken to the Martensville RCMP Detachment where she provided breath samples of 130 and 120 mgs%.

The woman was later released on charges of impaired driving. Her driver’s licence was suspended and her vehicle impounded.

On September 28 at 7:50 p.m. Corman Park Police observed a white Audi A5 being operated at a high rate of speed on Highway 16 at Mierau Rd. in the RM of Corman Park. The vehicle was clocked by police at 144 km/h in a 110 km/h zone. Police stopped the vehicle and questioned the driver, a 21-year-old female resident of North Battleford, who admitted to consuming beer before driving.

The woman was read a breath sample demand and she submitted to a roadside breath test which resulted in a reading of WARN. The woman admitted to police that there was open alcohol in her vehicle, which was located and disposed of by police.

Further investigation revealed that the woman was criminally prohibited from driving by way of a previous conviction in August for impaired driving to which she was sentenced to a one year driving prohibition.

The woman was arrested for driving while prohibited and later released on an appearance notice. She was also issued tickets for speeding and driving with open alcohol. Her vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

On September 29 at 2:00 p.m., Corman Park Police received information about a possible stolen vehicle that had failed to stop for police near Perdue. Corman Park Police were patrolling on Range Road 3084 near Township Road 374 when they encountered the vehicle, a white Chevrolet Impala.

Police activated emergency equipment, but once again the vehicle fled from police. Saskatoon Police Air Support Unit was contacted and obtained a visual sighting of the vehicle. The vehicle made its way to Highway 14 and was eastbound towards Saskatoon at a high rate of speed. Corman Park Police attempted to deploy a tire deflation device at Highway 14 and Range Road 3065, but the white Impala took evasive action and fled northbound on a gravel road.

The vehicle was watched by the Air Support unit and it fled to the Langham area where Corman Park Police observed the vehicle again on Range Road 3074 near Township Road 394. An RCMP unit arrived and managed to deploy a spike belt, which deflated two of the vehicle’s tires.

The vehicle came to a stop near the railroad tracks north of Langham where two men and one woman were seen exiting the vehicle and running to a nearby property. Corman Park Police officers managed to arrest all three subjects, who were later turned over to the RCMP for further investigation.

It was determined that the vehicle had been stolen from the Little Pine First Nation. Three adults from that area are facing numerous charges including possessing stolen property and flight from police.

On October 3 at 12:20 a.m. Corman Park Police observed a black Ford F-150 truck northbound on Highway 219 near Victor Rd. The vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed and was clocked by police at 122 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.

The truck was stopped and the driver, a 29-year-old male resident of Saskatoon, was interviewed by police. The man advised that he was heading home from the casino and that he had consumed one beer while there. Police administered a roadside breath test which resulted in a reading of FAIL.

The man was arrested and taken to the Saskatoon Detachment of the RCMP where he provided samples of breath at 100 and 90 mgs%.

The man was later released on charges of impaired driving and his driver’s licence was suspended and his vehicle impounded.

On October 4 at 2:25 a.m. Corman Park Police were patrolling on Range Road 3050 near Greenbryre Estates when they observed a white Chevrolet Silverado truck being operated off of the roadway near some bush.

Police stopped the vehicle and observed a male driver and a female passenger. The driver, a 29-year-old resident of the Dundurn area, displayed signs of alcohol consumption and admitted to drinking prior to driving.

The man was read a breath sample demand and provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device which resulted in a reading of FAIL. The driver was arrested and taken to the Saskatoon RCMP Detachment where he provided breath samples of 150 mgs%, almost double the legal limit.

The man was held in custody a short while and later released on charges of impaired driving. His driver’s licence was suspended and his truck was impounded.
