The following is the occurrence summary for August 24-31.
On August 27 at 8:59 p.m. Corman Park police observed a Ford F-150 southbound on Highway 12 near Highway 305 travelling at a high rate of speed. Police stopped the vehicle and read the mandatory screening demand to the male driver. A breath sample resulted in a FAIL and the driver was subsequently arrested for impaired driving and transported to the Martensville RCMP Detachment where he provided breath samples of 130 and 130 mg%. The man was released on charges of impaired driving and excess blood alcohol.
On August 28 at 11:41 p.m. Corman Park police stopped a Kia Soul on Highway 12 near Township Road 393. The male driver was read a breath demand as he had the odour of alcoholic beverage on his breath. A sample of breath was obtained at the roadside which resulted in FAIL. He was then arrested for impaired driving and transported to the Martensville RCMP Detachment where he provided samples of 170 and 180 mg%.
The male was then released on charges for impaired driving, excess blood alcohol and breach of release order.
During the week of August 24-31 Corman Park police issued three suspensions for drivers operating with a blood alcohol level in excess of .04 milligrams, the Provincial limit, one of which resulted in a 60-day licence suspension.
There has been an increase in the number of break and enters and thefts reported within the RM. The Corman Park Police Service would like to remind everyone to ensure all sheds and shops are secured as well as vehicles locked and car keys and valuables removed from vehicles. Insecure property offers a crime of opportunity for thieves and everyone has a role to play to minimize property crime in the community.
