The following is the occurrence summary for August 10-17.
On August 11 at 11:04 p.m. Corman Park Police were called to a farm yard on Township Road 394 east of Range Road 3074 for a complaint of trespassing. Police attended and met with the complainant, who advised police he rents the land and outbuildings on it and found numerous vehicles on the property when he attended. He advised that there were several youths in the cars and that the property has been the victim of thefts and mischief recently. When police arrived the vehicles had fled the area, but the complainant had managed to get a licence plate. Police followed-up on the licence information and made contact with the registered owner in Saskatoon. The owner of the vehicle advised that her teenaged daughter had the vehicle. The situation was discussed and the daughter was warned for trespassing. There was no damage or theft at the property.
On August 11 at 11:50 p.m. Corman Park Police observed a Dodge truck on Capital Circle in the Biz Hub Industrial Park. Police stopped the vehicle to determine what it was doing in the industrial area at that hour and the driver, a 38-year-old man from Canoe Narrows, advised that he had pulled off of the highway to relieve himself. The man was read a mandatory breath sample demand and provided a sample that resulted in a reading of WARN. It was revealed that this was the second such reading of a similar nature within the last month, which resulted in a 7 day vehicle impound and a 21 day licence suspension.
On August 14 at 9:07 p.m. Corman Park Police received a complaint of a bonfire in the Riverside Estates community. Police attended and spoke with the complainant who advised that they had seen a bonfire at a nearby residence and were afraid that the fire may get out of control. Police attended to the area where the fire was and observed a couple with two young children outside of a camper-trailer, they had a small camp fire burning. When spoken to about the neighbour’s concerns they showed police that they had a fire extinguisher nearby. The fire was not deemed to be hazardous and police concluded their investigation without any enforcement action.
On August 14 at 11:20 p.m. Corman Park Police observed a Ford Fusion car parked on Township Road 392 near the intersection of Range Road 3084. The vehicle had a lone male occupant inside who was seated behind the wheel. Police interviewed the man to determine why he was there and if he required assistance. The man appeared to have been drinking and advised police that he had consumed beer prior to driving to the location. Police made a breath demand of the man, a 34-year-old Langham area resident. The man complied and provided a sample which registered as a FAIL. The man was arrested and taken to the Martensville RCMP Detachment where he provided breath samples of 190 and 200 mgs%, more than double the legal limit. The man was held in custody for a short while before being released on an Appearance Notice. The man is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on charges of Impaired Operation of a Conveyance and Excess Blood Alcohol. His licence was suspended and his vehicle impounded.
