The following is the occurrence summary for August 3-10.
On August 5 at 11:10 p.m. Corman Park Police observed a white Chev Silverado truck eastbound on Hodgson Road near Valley Road in the RM of Corman Park.
The vehicle was stopped to check for driver’s licence, registration, driver sobriety and mechanical fitness.
The driver, a 34-year-old male from Yellow Quill, SK, was found to be on probation from charges in Calgary, AB. A condition of his probation was not to possess any weapons, including knives.
There was open alcohol containers observed in the vehicle and police conducted a search and located numerous knives, drug paraphernalia and baggies containing crystal meth and heroin. The driver was arrested and transported to the Saskatoon RCMP Detachment where he was held in custody.
The man was later released on charges of breaching his probation, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, possession of controlled substances and possessing open alcohol in a vehicle.
On August 7 at 1:15 a.m., Corman Park Police were travelling on Circle Drive near 108th Street in Saskatoon when they observed a northbound Ford F-150 truck having difficulty staying within its lane and then failing to signal a lane change when taking the off-ramp at Attridge Drive.
The vehicle was then observed moving from the far right lane to the far left lane on eastbound Attridge without signalling. Police initiated a traffic stop at Central Avenue.
The male driver, a 60-year-old resident of Saskatoon, advised that he had only had a glass of wine with his supper earlier the previous day. The man was read a breath demand and he supplied a sample of his breath that resulted in a reading of FAIL.
The man was taken to the Saskatoon RCMP Detachment where he provided breath samples of 230 mgs%, almost three times the legal limit. The man was held in custody and later released to a family member on charges of impaired driving and driving while suspended. His vehicle was impounded.
On August 7 at 6:20 p.m. Corman Park Police observed a Pontiac Sunfire parked in the southbound lanes of Highway 11 near Township Road 382. Police observed a male driver reaching out of the window and throwing paper or tissue to the ground.
Police, who were north bound, reversed and attempted to pull in behind the car and found that the car was now northbound on Highway 11 and that the female passenger was now driving.
Police initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle near Warman and observed open alcoholic beverage containers in the vehicle.
The female driver, a 30-year-old resident of Prince Albert, was asked about her alcohol consumption, which she denied having consumed any alcohol. A roadside breath test was conducted and the woman’s sample indicated .025 milligrams of alcohol in her system. The male, who was now seated in the passenger seat, was also given a breath demand, and he provided a sample which revealed no alcohol in his system.
Further investigation revealed the man, a 30-year-old resident of La Loche, was wanted in Prince Albert for driving while suspended. Both subjects were issued tickets for having open liquor in a vehicle.
The female driver was also issued a summons for making a false statement to a police officer about her alcohol consumption. The male was arrested and released on a summons for a new court date in Prince Albert.
On August 7 at 8:00 p.m. Corman Park Police observed a black Volkswagen car southbound on Highway 11 near Township Road 384.
The black Volkswagen passed a stopped emergency vehicle with lights activated at 100 km/h when the law requires a vehicle to slow to 60 km/h when passing an emergency vehicle.
Corman Park Police initiated a traffic stop of the Volkswagen car, which was being driven by a 29-year-old male resident of Saskatoon.
It was determined that the man was a suspended driver and that he had an outstanding arrest warrant for breach of conditions and failing to appear in court on a drug trafficking charge.
The man was arrested and transported to the Saskatoon Police Service Headquarters where he was held on the strength of the warrant.
The man was also issued a summons for driving while suspended and a speeding ticket.
