The following is the occurrence summary for June 15 – 22, 2020.

On June 20 at 1:25 a.m., Corman Park Police observed a 2017 Dodge Ram truck swerving while driving northbound on Highway 219 near Township Road 354. Police stopped the vehicle and interviewed the driver who denied consuming any alcohol. The driver, a 33-year-old male resident of Saskatoon, was read a mandatory breath demand and he provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device which registered a WARN. The man had his six-year-old son in the rear seat of the vehicle. Because the man’s breath sample was over 40 mgs% and he had a passenger under the age of 16 in the vehicle, his licence was suspended for seven days instead of the normal three days and his vehicle was also impounded for seven days. Police also located an open alcohol beverage container in the driver’s door of the vehicle. The alcohol was poured out and the man was issued a $360 ticket for having open liquor in a vehicle and a summons for making a false statement to police for lying about his alcohol consumption. Police arranged for transportation for the man and his son.

On June 20, between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m., Corman Park Police and the Saskatchewan Highway Patrol were conducting a traffic operation on Highway 219 near Victor Rd. in the RM of Corman Park. At this time CPPS were monitoring the speed of vehicles passing the SHP cars when they had vehicles stopped for other infractions. Three vehicles were stopped for speeding past an emergency vehicle with its lights activated. The law requires all motorists to slow to 60 km/h when passing an emergency vehicle with its lights on. The three vehicles were clocked at 93, 95 and 105 km/h as they went past the SHP vehicle. This resulted in fines of $514, $530 and $742. Charged were two men from Regina and one woman from Saskatoon.

The woman was read a mandatory breath demand and she provided a breath sample into a roadside screening device which resulted in a reading of WARN. The woman’s licence was suspended for three days for having a blood alcohol over 40 mgs%. Because she was driving on a Novice 2 licence her vehicle was impounded for 60 days for violating the zero tolerance for alcohol on new drivers. The woman was also issued a summons for making a false statement to police because she lied about her alcohol consumption.
