The Saskatchewan Health Authority is ending its community outbreak declaration in Saskatoon. Dr. Jasmine Hasselback, Medical Health Officer, declared the outbreak over on June 21, 2020.

The outbreak was declared May 27, 2020 because it involved multiple different households with transmission linked to a large gathering. With the understanding and cooperation of all those involved, the SHA and affected members of the public have worked well and been able to control the train of transmission and stop any further transmission associated with this outbreak.

While the province continues to cautiously reopen, the public is reminded that during the COVID-19 pandemic it is important to continue to take precautions to protect yourself, your families and everyone who lives in the community. COVID-19 is present in Saskatchewan and we all have a responsibility to minimize the spread of the disease.

Physical distancing is something that everyone needs to be doing all the time, every time, to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

It is also important for everyone to follow the guidelines for hand washing, social distancing and self-isolating shared by provincial and municipal governments to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 and protect our most vulnerable populations. Together, we can make a positive difference in our community by reducing the spread.
