Grade 12 graduates at Dalmeny High School (DHS) will get the recognition they deserve later this month.

The DHS grad parent committee has organized a “Celebration Caravan” on Friday, June 26 to honour the 45 members of the 2020 graduating class.

DHS grad parent committee member Nikki Hyland said the event is optional, and noted about 20 graduates and their familes are participating. The event has been given the green light by the public health officer and the Dalmeny Police Chief. Physical distancing and other health guidelines set out by the Saskatchewan Health Authority are being followed.

“The grads will walk past the Spruce Manor Special Care Home beginning at 6:30 p.m.,” said Hyland. “From 7:00 to 8:00, the grads will stand in front of their grad lawn signs at their homes, and community members can drive by and acknowledge them.”

A map showing the homes of the grads will be available, said Hyland, noting that many of the details will be finalized in the days leading up to the event.

“It’s a special event for the graduates,” said Hyland. “It’s important they be recognized.”
