The following is the Corman Park Police Service occurrence summary for May 11-18.

On May 14 at 1:15 p.m., members of the Corman Park Police were patrolling on Range Road 3084, north of Township Road 382, when they encountered a Dodge Ram pickup truck parked on the roadway. A check of the license plate revealed that the plate did not match the vehicle. When police checked the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) they found that the VIN plate had been removed. A check of the VIN plates on the vehicle’s doors revealed that those doors did not belong to the truck they were attached to. The vehicle was impounded by police and further investigation revealed that the vehicle had been stolen from a Saskatoon area construction company in September of 2018. The vehicle was turned over to the Saskatoon Police Service for further investigation.

On May 14 at 10:42 p.m., Corman Park Police observed a 2019 Chev Cruze leaving the Chief Whitecap dog park near Furdale, in the R.M. of Corman Park. The vehicle was stopped by police to check for driver’s license, registration and driver sobriety. Police observed two people in the vehicle, and upon questioning the driver observed an open alcoholic beverage container on the floor of the rear seat behind the passenger. The driver, a 33-year-old female resident of Saskatoon, initially denied any alcohol consumption to police but later admitted to two drinks. The driver was given a roadside screening device demand, to which she complied. The driver provided a sample of breath that registered as a FAIL. The driver was arrested and taken to the Martensville RCMP Detachment where she provided breath samples at 90 and 80 mgs%. The woman was charged with impaired driving and later released for a court date in July. She was released from custody to a sober adult.

On May 16 at 1:20 p.m., Corman Park Police received a call of two vehicles doing donuts in the intersection of Township Road 360 and Range Road 3045. Police attended the area and located two vehicles, a blue Subaru and a yellow Mustang. The Subaru was doing donuts in the intersection when police arrived. Police obtained a statement from a witness who had called and charged the drivers of both vehicles for stunting. Each driver was issued an offence notice with a voluntary payment option of $150. There was some minor damage noted to the surface of the roadway, which will be assessed by the Public Works Department to determine if the two subjects are liable for any damages.

On May 16 at 3:09 p.m., Corman Park Police received a call of a fire near Highway 11 and Floral Road. Police attended with the Saskatoon Fire Department. Two outbuildings on the property were burned and destroyed by fire before the fire was extinguished. Two men, the property owner and his adult son were treated at the scene by paramedics for minor injuries. It was later learned that the property owner had been using a grinder and was having difficulties with a breaker that kept tripping. It is believed that the breaker was the source of the fire’s ignition. No foul play is suspected. Damage values are unknown at this time.
