The Saskatchewan Health Authority reminds all Saskatchewan residents that if you feel unwell and think you require any medical care, don’t wait.
Accessing medical care in the midst of COVID-19 is safe whether you visit your local walk-in clinic, family physician or emergency department.
For urgent and emergent medical concerns such as chest pain, signs of stroke, broken bones, shortness of breath or thoughts of self-harm, go to a hospital emergency department or call 911.
If your condition does not require emergency care, it is still important.
Many family physician practices and walk-in clinics across Saskatchewan are open and seeing patients. Your appointment may be in-person or via phone or other virtual means.
If you have a chronic disease or other existing health condition, regular health care is just as important now as it was before COVID-19.
Please phone your local health care provider for more details HealthLine 811 is also available for a confidential, 24-hour health and mental health and addictions advice, education and support.
As we move into Phase 1 of the Re-open Saskatchewan Plan, be assured that health care centers, including private physician practices, walk-in clinics and hospitals, are ensuring your continued safety.
Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), patient screening, frequent handwashing and strict cleaning and disinfecting procedures are in place.
Physical distancing will occur in all waiting areas with many using alternate methods, such as waiting in your vehicle, to reduce potential contact between patients.
Don’t let fear of COVID-19 keep you from getting the medical attention you need.Staying healthy during the pandemic is just as important as remaining COVID free.
