Animal cruelty charges laid after horses found dead

A Corman Park man is facing charges under the provincial Animal Protection Act.

Cannabis and driving – what you need to know

Last week I addressed the new legislation relative to Cannabis and the regulations regarding possession, consumption and distribution.  This week I will address the driving laws relative to Cannabis and drug use.

On December 18, 2018, a series of amendments were made to the Criminal Code which changed our impaired driving laws.  Many of those changes affect how we deal with impaired drivers who are under the influence of drugs, or a combination of drugs and alcohol. Cannabis laws you need to know

On October 17, 2018, the Federal Government enacted legislation which legalized the possession and consumption of Cannabis in Canada. That law then enabled each province to legislate restrictions around how it will be possessed and consumed in each jurisdiction. Saskatchewan enacted the Cannabis Control Act, which effectively makes the use and possession of Cannabis similar to how we use and possess alcohol.

A good rule of thumb for those of you not prepared to read the Alcohol and Gaming Regulations Act or the Cannabis Control Act is treat Cannabis much the same way you would alcohol, with some differences. Continue reading “Cannabis laws you need to know”
