Haz-mat team responds to suspicious substance at mail plant

At approximately 11:22 this morning, the Saskatoon Fire Department and Emergency Management Organization were alerted by the Saskatoon Police Service to a suspicious substance found in a mail processing facility located at 115 Avenue H South.

Collision creates traffic bottleneck at Highway 11, Wanuskewin Road

The back end of a truck was destroyed after being rear-ended by a semi on Highway 11 on Friday, September 27

Southwest-bound traffic heading into Saskatoon on Highway 11 was diverted onto Wanuskewin Road over the busy noon hour as a result of a two-vehicle collision on Friday, September 27.

A southwest-bound five-ton truck carrying chemicals was rear-ended by a semi-trailer unit on Highway 11 between the Wanuskewin Road intersection and the Highway 12 overpass at about 11:15 a.m.. The driver of the truck that was rear-ended was assessed on scene by emergency personnel from Medavie Ambulance. No extrication of the driver was required.
