The Central Valley Athletic Conference (CVAC) junior basketball playoffs February 9 featured tough competition, which saw the Walter W. Brown (Langham) Vikings win the Tier A Championship in the girls division for a second consecutive year, after a victory over the Valley Christian Academy (VCA) Lions. Also the Dalmeny Cougars captured the Tier A Championship in the boys category after a 85-61 win in the final over the Rosthern High School Huskies. The City of Warman is hoping to earn a $10,000 financial boost for a new accessible playground.
The town of Aberdeen, meanwhile, would like to use the prize money from the Blue Cross ‘Go Out and Play’ Challenge to build a walking path around its soccer and football field.
