Firefighters contain fire near Langham

The fire on May 16 began in a pile of organic waste material at the Langham Transfer Station

Firefighters from Langham, Dalmeny and Martensville were able to contain a wildfire on the outskirts of Langham on Wednesday, May 16.
The fire began at the Langham Transfer Station at about 2:30 p.m. Fanned by a brisk northerly wind, the fire quickly spread into a neighbouring stubble field and a nearby slough area with tall dry grass.
