Dalmeny Fire and Rescue responded to a semi-trailer truck that caught fire near the intersection of the Dalmeny Access Road (Highway 684) and Highway 305 at about 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25.
No one was injured in the blaze, which completely destroyed the vehicle. The driver, the lone occupant of the truck, was able to escape from the cab before it was completely engulfed in flames.

Dalmeny Police Service also responded to the incident.
According to Dalmeny Police Chief Scott Rowe, the fire appeared to be accidental. There were no hazardous materials on the truck.
A large plume of black smoke could be seen for several kilometers as the vehicle burned quickly. Fire crews were on the scene in a matter of minutes and were able to extinguish the flames by spraying foam from tanks on the fire trucks. They also prevented the fire from crossing the west ditch of the Dalmeny Access Road and spreading to a nearby stubble field.
Northbound commuter traffic on the Dalmeny Access Road was stopped while firefighters battled the fire. Traffic on Highway 305 was not restricted.
The fire was contained quickly extinguished by 4:30 p.m., and north and south-bound traffic on the Dalmeny Access Road was able to move normally.
