Firefighters give oxygen to a cat rescued from a house fire Sunday night

Saskatoon firefighters responded to a fire in the RM of Corman Park late Sunday night.

 Corman Park Police , RCMP and Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a fire at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 22 at a residence on Range Road 3062.

When firefighters arrived on scene, the single occupant of the house had already exited the building and was not injured. Saskatoon Fire Department officials said the fire began under the floor in the building and firefighters used chainsaws to breach the floor and extinguish the fire. An unconscious cat was discovered during a search of the house. Firefighters were able to revive the cat and it was returned to its owner. The house received extensive damage and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
